A Clients Success
10th November 2009Hi. My name is Darren. I have been working as a personal trainer for just over 3 years and have been a Synergy Personal Trainer for around 12 months. What I love about this job is the fact that I am able to encourage changes in the way people look, feel and behave. There is no better feeling than when a client says; "I never thought I would be able to do that," or "I can't believe how good I feel now compared to six weeks ago."
Here is a nice little example of what one of my clients has achieved:
I have been working with my client Adele for two months. She came to see me with the goals of losing weight and improving her fitness. She was unable to walk up the stairs at university without being out of breath. She said she didn't mind what type of exercise we did during our sessions, as long as I did not try to make her run. I said OK that is no problem. I personally think that running is one of the best forms of cardio vascular activity you can do, so after a few weeks as she gained confidence and fitness I was hoping to persuade her to do a little.
Over the past 2 months, Adele's attitude towards her training and lifestyle has been really positive. As a result she has lost 13lbs and a combined 15 inches of body fat from around her chest, waist and hips. A milestone for me happened last week when we progressed to doing press ups from our knees to full body press ups like they do in the military.
Probably the biggest plus point for me though was a text I got from Adele the other day. I couldn't believe it. Here's what it said:
"What have you done to me?" (I got a bit worried at this point). "I think I am actually starting to enjoy exercise. And I have just been out for a two mile run with my brother."
Synergy Personal Trainers like myself work pretty damn hard to get our clients results but it is still a nice feeling to get to the goals they are after. So when I got the text I'm pretty sure I did a little dance right there on the spot. If you ever meet me you will realise that sentiment is not a strong point of mine but even I thought that something pretty cool just happened there.
Catch you soon,
Darren
